my middle name means queen..i'll be that

it seems like every girl around me lives for love/lust.
like its their main focus
its what they talk about the most, think about the most, and go after the hardest.
it has been said that disney movies are partially responsible for teaching young girls that they need a prince charming, but i never saw it that way.in every disney movie i can remember i always saw the female character as a magician ,being able to teach the male species more about himself and the world around him than he could have ever learned alone.
they never went searching for a boyfriend, and their goal was never to get the guy.
they boldly went after their own goals, lived life and took in all that came along with it,...coincidentally love.
somewhere along the path the road of what royalty should be has been tainted, girls(princesses) think they are entitled to a guy,and go after them as if they were commodity's and visa versa.
on top of that we label people as "thugs""skaters""artist" and expect them to behave accordingly
we forget that beyond all the labels, beyond being a boy or a girl, being gay or straight, white, or black that we are all simply human, and have way more to learn from each other than any of us could ever imagine
but until we all understand this you can label me as royalty
ill dream as if the whole world is mine, learn the traditions of the royal family, and understand and listen to the problems of the kingdom, so when its my turn to rule i can make a better one.

lightspeed champion-my turn

apache(jumponit!)

the other day i had the opportunity to attend the much anticipated show "from the grain" held at the popular atlanta music venue, apache cafe, and to rate the show as good is beyond an understatement.the show;featuring dow jones, lazymayne, kosherbeets, yelawolf, and nwk, not only entertained, but reminded me why i love hip hop and music in general.i love that its able to get a message heard, i love that its relate-able, and i love the passion in the eyes of those who are candidly preaching what their feeling to the audience with the microphone as their only weapon.
nwk(new ways of komprehension), a group made up of two of my multi-talented friends ,freeman and ethereal, did an especially grand job of this.micah(freeman's) complex lyrics and dramatic stage presence mixed with brandon(ethereal's) eclectic flow and abrasive original beats makes for a lost genre of music that not only forces you to expand your ears, but your mind as well.

(ohh yeah and yelawolf killed it as usual but that's just something you have to experience first hand, done writing for the night)

thinking about going back to school in two weeks sort of gets me in a molly from one of my favorite movies corrina corrina/pennies from heaven type of mood.and its not that i don't enjoy school, because i do; its just that the longer im home the more i realize how much i cherish the memories that could only be made here,in atlanta.oh well, i guess its like the song says "if you want the things you love you must have showers", and at times i really dig showers, especially penny showers!

reacurring thoughts

how do you accurately represent who you are to the public.
strangers, and acquaintances, friends, and foes alike
everyone already has their impressions of you from the get go.
they see you and automatically sum you up whether they realize it or not, and i don't necessarily mean it in a bad way
i too am guilty of judgment after short encounters
i sometimes swear i love someone after one conversation, and began to like them after two.and its doesn't mean that i am naive or optimistic,i just like your thought process.
but at the same time i am aware that people are solely more than what they put out there.what they allow you to know, and how they choose to represent themselves, and it makes me wonder " do they do it on purpose?"
the best compliment(opinion) i have received to this day was that " i was genuine"
they thought that what i did, and said, had no other intentions that what they were done or said for.they thought i had no hidden agendas, and though i spoke no words i didn't mean. to this i couldn't even reply with my typical half sarcastic "gee thanks",that i usually end up giving when i receive compliments, and not because i don't think they believe it, but because i only half way believe it myself. instead i looked in the persons eyes, nodded my head in understating and said "that's admirable", and with a couple minutes of reflection finally said "thank you"
but am i?
i feel its my nature, i feel its human nature, but at the same time we tend to live any way but humane.everything around you tells you not to be genuine.you have to uphold a certain image if you want to get hired, you have to have pictures on facebump of you at the club if you want to be cool, and you cant even dig up your nose in elementary school if don't want to be remembered as that snotty hand boy who picked his boogers for-e-verrr.
its like we say we want "real" so much, but everything from how we constantly believe and replicate whats is aired to us through media, to how we act differently in public places says otherwise. we want real, but when real is shown we don't condone it.
we don't condone mistakes,im sorry's,or genuine i love you's.
we don't condone random thoughts, smiling or dancing just because you feel like it
and we for sure do not condone thought, questioning the status quo,or change

..where was i going with this
i guess to sum it up ill say that this is not me, i am not my actions, i am not how i dress, i am not how i seem, i am....
"nobody, who are you?"
trying to figure out,how i make you see me
how do i be, who i am?

the noisettes

so the other day i went to barnes & nobles with intentions to get some reading done, but not surprisingly ended up in the music section listening to samples of various albums for about an hour.after going through most of the foreign exchange-leave it all behind , and georgia anne muldrow-early i picked up another cd with another familiar name on the cover,"the noisettes",except this time i wasn't sure what to expect.their name just rung a bell, so i decided to take a listen, and after doing so wondered how i would not have made a permanent mental sticky note with their name in bold from the first time i heard them. everything from their catchy tunes, to front woman, shingai shoniwa's soulful voice make this band anything, but forgettable.

plus they say "ello govna!"
