i can count 10 times i have seen this woman preform and cant manage to remember one second i was not in in awe while watching her.if i were to tell someone that they would be quick to misinterpret it as an obsession, but if you were to witness it yourself you would understand.janelle monae is a living legend. and when i see her i never ask her to sign a autograph or get jittery in her presence, i just genuinely admire this woman. to be brave enough to expose your feelings, thoughts,and self no matter how out of the box it may be, and not be tainted by the reactions of the outside world takes more than pure talent,it takes strength.be sure to check her out her newest album the archandroid and tour dates with ms. badu!

today i cried.
because some lady told me i couldn't play piano in the practice rooms because i wasn't a music major.or was it deeper...
i tried to hold back my tears as i explained to her that i had come into there multiple times a week since the beginning or the school year to let out what was impossible to express by word or any language made by man.my voice altered. i then turned and walked away so she could not see the tears in my eyes began to form. and i'm not sure the emotion came from the fact that she thought she had the authority to stop me from doing something that gave me joy, or that others think they have the authority to stop people from doing things that bring them joy...and the people listen.
